Why INTEGRA-pw?
‘Less is more’ – reduced material consumption but greater safety

More material does not always automatically mean more safety. The decisive factor is how energy is absorbed in the event of an impact.
Thanks to its elastic and damping function, INTEGRA-pw can absorb the energy released in a vehicle collision in a targeted and controlled manner instead of passing it on unchecked.
The result: less damage to the vehicle, more protection for occupants – and maximum safety without excessive use of material.
Efficient. Tested. Proven in practice.

Modular system for maximum flexibility and efficiency

INTEGRA-pw combines robust steel mesh mats with flexible fastening sets – precisely tailored to your load requirements. Design options such as handrails and glare protection, as well as efficient pre-assembly, ensure maximum customisation and short delivery times.

The modular system consists of the steel mesh mat and various fastening sets.

The number of fastening sets plays an important role in load transfer.

This allows INTEGRA-pw to be configured precisely to the required specifications. The load requirements are the primary determining factor here!

The INTEGRA-pw Extra product series is a useful addition. It includes additional equipment for the steel mesh mat in the form of a handrail and/or a glare protection.

INTEGRA-pw is manufactured at our factory in Salzkotten, Germany. We use a fully automatic mesh welding machine called ‘Patricia’ to process steel wire rolls with a diameter of 6 mm or 8 mm. The mats are cut to size and embossed. Depending on customer requirements, the surface is finished by galvanising or powder coating.

On request, we can deliver INTEGRA-pw pre-assembled directly to the construction site. We recommend that you use our digital order lists when placing your order, as this saves time in the order process and enables shorter delivery times.

Interesting facts about INTEGRA-pw safety barriers for multi-storey car parks

The individual products in the INTEGRA-pw product family basically consist of steel mesh mats, fastening sets and component specifications. Since different applications require different individual components, these must be selected individually. Our product management team will be happy to assist you in this regard.

The steel mesh mats are invoiced according to the total length of the respective mat height. The fastening sets are invoiced according to the respective number of sets. If additional processing steps are required, such as slope adjustments or pre-assembly of the fastening sets, these will also be invoiced according to their number. The component specifications are provided free of charge.

As a general rule, the more precise the information provided, the more accurate the price quotation will be.
Since the exact specifications of the required INTEGRA-pw are often not determined until the end of the building’s planning phase, we require at least information about the installation situation (e.g. cars up to 3.0 tonnes and building height up to 12.0 m), the total length of the required mesh mats and the number of individual mats. Please provide your contact details so that we can clarify any queries.

Fall zones up to 5.50 m wide can be secured easily with INTEGRA-pw. Please contact us for larger openings without supports so that we can find a customised solution.

Depending on the product selected, impact loads from vehicles weighing up to 3500 kg and travelling at speeds of up to 4.5 m/s can be absorbed.

INTEGRA-pw is used throughout Europe and beyond. We meet country-specific requirements by providing expert reports or building approvals.

The forces acting on structures are regulated in various standards in the Eurocode. On the one hand, they are specified in EN 1991-1-7, but also provided for information purposes in Annex B of EN 1991-1-1. In addition, national annexes may have to be observed, which, for example, specify the impact load to be applied in Germany and, on the other hand, define the informative Annex B as the calculation specification to be applied.

The follow-up forces depend on a number of factors, such as the mat height, the vehicle weight and the vehicle speed in each individual case. The follow-up forces are therefore assessed differently and are included in the respective country-specific reports.

These can be requested from projekt w if required.

INTEGRA-pw not only serves as impact protection for vehicles, but also meets the requirements for guardrails to secure people. Therefore, the specifications for the minimum parapet height are complied with.

These vary across Europe and range between 1.0 m and 1.2 m.

The ventilation cross-section of the INTEGRA-pw grille mat is approx. 82%.

The system with a height of 943 mm and 2 system fastenings per side weighs 10 kg/m.

The system with a height of 1143 mm and 2 system fastenings per side weighs 12 kg/m.

The connection is made to the side of the supports/components. This means that no holes need to be drilled in the road surface.

Depending on the system, 2 or 4 system connections are used.

The connection can be made to steel supports and concrete components.

Steel supports:

+ Open steel profile >= 80 mm: single-sided connection using standard fasteners
+ Open steel profile >= 140 mm: double-sided connection using standard fasteners

Concrete components:

+ Depending on width and concrete grade, using standard fasteners and additional concrete connection

No, all INTEGRA-pw components are hot-dip galvanised in accordance with DIN 1461. In addition, INTEGRA-pw components can be coated with a powder coating with a layer thickness of approx. 80 µm. This corresponds to a total coating of approx. 160 µm and is therefore similar to a duplex coating.

The powder coating is applied as standard in accordance with the RAL Classic colour chart in a gloss finish. On request, a coating in metallic colours, signal colours, RAL design colours and DB colours is available.

INTEGRA-pw should be taken into account as early as possible in the planning of the structure, as its use can have an economic impact on the design of the steel structure for the project (fewer intermediate supports are required, no drilling into the road surface, etc.).
We provide all the necessary information in our planning guide.
However, as the manufacturer, we are also happy to take on the planning of your project.
Assembly is carried out by steel construction, metalworking or metal construction companies.

The aim of sustainable construction is to save energy right from the selection and production of building materials. This is where ecological building materials come into play.
Steel has excellent sustainability. Steel is one of the few building materials that can be recycled easily and as often as required. According to a study by the Fraunhofer Institute, using 1,000 kg of steel scrap saves 1,670 kg of CO₂. Almost 50% of the total global consumption of steel, which amounts to 800 million tonnes, is produced from scrap metal.
Our INTEGRA-pw multi-storey car park safety barrier is another good example of sustainability in construction. The steel safety barrier is not only durable, but can also be easily dismantled and reused elsewhere. This is an unbeatable, particularly ecological and efficient advantage, especially in temporary car parks and multi-storey car parks.
