Application areas
INTEGRA-pw is our patented solution that redefines safety. Originally conceived for multi-storey car parks, our mesh mat-based system is proving itself today in a variety of application areas – from logistics centres to mobility hubs.
INTEGRA-pw pushes the boundaries of traditional safety barriers with a modular system that provides impact protection for cars as well as pedestrian fall protection, while serving as an effective parapet barrier against possible vandalism.
As a comprehensive safety solution, INTEGRA-pw meets the needs of modern construction projects with a combination of safety, functionality and design.
Certified safety
INTEGRA-pw provides tested safety through conformity with all European building codes, as well as a building authority approval from the German Institute of Building Technology (Z-14.7-882).
Cost efficiency
INTEGRA-pw reduces material consumption compared to conventional static systems such as heavy steel structures or concrete balustrades, which enables significant cost savings.
Flexible design
Enables the integration of façade elements such as solar panels, wood and aluminium slats, greening as well as coloured powder-coatings, handrails and glare protection for individual design.
Expertise
Our designers offer flexible solutions for concrete, steel or timber structures, supported by extensive experience in engineering, to best meet all customer requirements.
Product-specific advantages
High aperture cross-section
makes it possible to dispense with expensive ventilation systems, thanks to the high air permeability of the INTEGRA-pw system.
High light transmission
optimises the use of daylight and reduces lighting costs.
No ladder effect
INTEGRA-pw system does not reduce any horizontal profiles and thus prevents climbing over.
Closure
Suitable for protection over entire storey heights as protection against vandalism and prevention of suicide.
Slope and ramp area
allows the use of INTEGRA-pw in the slope and ramp area, adaptable for different degrees of inclination.
Façade integration
makes it possible to dispense with costly façade substructures, as INTEGRA-pw is ideally suited for use for fastening.
Connections
Lateral connections, no additional floor fastening or drilling in the concrete floors required.
Low maintenance and care requirement
The use of threadlockers keeps maintenance to a minimum. The use of round bars in combination with galvanization in accordance with EN ISO 1461 reduces the care requirement to a minimum.
Adaptation
Subsequent adaptations of the mats in the system grid are possible on the building site.
Modular solutions
The modular system consists of the steel mesh mat and various fastening sets.
The number of fastening sets plays a significant role in the load dissipation.
Therefore, INTEGRA-pw is configured exactly to meet the requirements. The decisive factor for this is primarily the load requirements!
Load requirement: Loads due to people up to 1.0 kN/m according to EN 1991-1-1
Area of use: safety barrier for people in buildings, mezzanines, connecting bridges between buildings and wherever people need to be protected against falling
Parapet barrier for loads due to people up to 100 kg
Area of use: for the closure of complete storey heights in multi-storey car parks
Protection against vandalism

INTEGRA-pw EXTRA – Design options and add-on parts
The INTEGRA-pw Extra product series is a useful addition. It includes the additional equipment of the steel mesh mat with a handrail and / or glare protection.

Production
INTEGRA-pw is manufactured in our plant in Salzkotten in Germany. We use a fully automatic mesh welding machine called “Patricia” to process coiled steel wire with a diameter 6 or 8 mm. The mats are cut to size and deep formed. Depending on the customer’s requirements, the surface is finished by galvanizing or powder-coating.

Assembly – Efficient implementation
On request, we can deliver INTEGRA-pw pre-assembled directly to the building site. We recommend that you use our digital order lists for ordering – this saves time in the order process and thus enables shorter delivery times.
Useful information on INTEGRA-pw safety barriers for multi-storey car parks
The individual products from the INTEGRA-pw product family basically consist of steel mesh mats, the fastening sets and the component specifications. Since the different applications require different individual components, these must be selected individually. Our Product Management will be pleased to assist you.
The steel mesh mat are billed according to the total length of the respective mat height. The fastening sets are billed according to the respective number of sets. If additional processing steps are required, such as slope adjustments or the pre-assembly of the fastening set, these will also be billed according to their quantity. The component specifications are provided free of charge.
Basically, the following applies: The more precise the information, the more accurate the price quotation. Since the exact design of the required INTEGRA-pw is often only determined at the end of the planning phase of the building, we require at least information on the installation situation (e.g. cars up to 3.0 tons and building height up to 12.0 m), the total length of the required mesh mats and the number of individual mats. To clarify possible queries, we kindly request that you provide your contact details.
Fall areas with a width of up to 5.50 m can be easily secured with the INTEGRA-pw. Please contact us in the case of wider column-free openings, so that we can find an individual solution.
INTEGRA-pw is used throughout Europe and beyond. We meet the country-specific requirements through the provision of expert’s reports or construction approvals.
The acting forces are specified in different Eurocode standards. Standardised in EN 1991-1-7 as well as informatively in Annex B of EN 1991-1-1. National annexes may also have to be considered; in Germany, for example, they specify the applicable impact load and on the other hand define the informative Annex B as the calculation specification to be applied.
The connection forces depend on several influence factors, such as the mat height, the vehicle weight and the vehicle speed in each individual case. For this reason, the connection forces are assessed differently and are part of the respective country-specific expert’s reports.
These can be requested from projekt w if required.
INTEGRA-pw not only serves as impact protection for vehicles, but also fulfils the requirements as guardrail for securing people. Consequently, the specifications for the minimum parapet height are complied with.
These are specified differently throughout Europe and vary between 1.0 and 1.2 m.
It can be connected to steel columns and concrete components.
Steel columns:
+ Open steel profile >= 80 mm: one-sided connection using standard fixing
+ Open steel profile >= 140 mm: double-sided connection using standard fixing
Concrete components:
+ Using standard fixing and additional concrete connection, depending on the width and the concrete grade
No, all INTEGRA-pw components are hot-dip galvanised according to DIN 1461. In addition, INTEGRA-pw components can be powder-coated with a layer thickness of approx. 80 µm. This is equivalent to a total coating of approx. 160 µm and is thus similar to the duplex coating.
The standard powder-coating is glossy according to the RAL Classic colour card. Coating in metallic, signal, RAL Design and DB colours is possible on request.
INTEGRA-pw should be considered at the earliest possible stage of the building planning, as its use can have an economic influence on the dimensioning of the steelwork for the project (fewer intermediate columns are required, no drilling of holes in the road surface, etc.)
We supply the complete basis for this with our planning handbook.
As the manufacturer, however, we will also be glad to handle the planning of your project.
Steel construction or metalwork companies carry out the assembly.
The goal of sustainable construction is to save energy right from the selection and production of the building materials. This is where ecological building materials in particular come into play.
Steel has excellent sustainability. Steel is one of the few building materials that can be recycled easily and as often as desired. According to a study by the Fraunhofer Institute, the use of 1,000 kg of steel scrap saves 1,670 kg of CO₂. Of the total world consumption of steel of 800 million tons, almost 50% is produced from scrap metal.
Our INTEGRA-pw multi-storey car park safety barrier in particular is another good example of sustainability in construction. The steel safety barrier is not only durable, but also reusable in another location by simply dismantling it. Especially in the use of temporary multi-storey car parks and system parking garages, this is an unbeatable and particularly ecological and efficient advantage.
In that case, of course, we will help you quickly and uncomplicatedly.
